Homme Fatale
In 2009, I began working on hybridized, human-sized figure assemblages, mainly of found and organic materials. These figures are meant to reference mythical and/or god-like inhabitants of an unidentifiable realm, earthly or otherwise – ambiguous creatures, while being composed of familiar (and discarded) physical matter. Their human-scale encourages empathy and internalization of their symbolism, while their grotesqueness repels.
