"WhiteFeather plays with our foggy, amorphous fears, and triggers our superstitions. She has created doll-like objects that incorporate materials both natural and man-made. Her art references the homunculus, the manikin, the bogeyman, and the scarecrowmonstrous beings that have human qualities, but evoke an almost child-like fear in their approximation to our own physicality. Made small, they further point to the familiar, both in terms of dolls that populated our childhood, and the small companion of the witch. In all cases, they allude to the magical, and the therapeutic."
